Obituary

Eleanor Mae Thompson (née Williams) was a beloved wife to Robert Thompson for 52 beautiful years, a devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and treasured friend. For over 40 years, she taught English literature at Meadowbrook High School, inspiring countless students with her passion for the written word and her unwavering belief in the potential of every young person. Eleanor was known for her infectious laughter, her legendary apple pie that won numerous county fair ribbons, her vibrant garden that was the envy of the neighborhood, and her generous spirit that touched everyone she met. She and Robert were pillars of their community, hosting annual garden parties that brought neighbors together and created lasting friendships. A devoted volunteer, Eleanor spent countless hours at the local food bank and was an active member of her book club for over 30 years. She had a special gift for making everyone feel welcomed and valued. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her three grandchildren, whom she adored beyond measure. Eleanor leaves behind her loving husband Robert, their two children, Jennifer and Michael, and three grandchildren. Her legacy of love, kindness, and the countless lives she enriched through her teaching and friendship will continue to inspire all who knew her.
